I JUST BOUGHT 600 FT ( 72 inches tall)  of 1 inch poultry wire netting. from Rural King after shipping it was 30.00 for a 50 ft roll,.....  has anyone used 2x4 with a cross brace as the post if so how wide should the brace be, we have silver wyndottes, cinnamon queens, and RI Browns....im not too keen on buying metal post at 7 per unit, the ground is too hard to dig holes with a post hole digger and burying the 2x4, ( lowes 2x4 treated  are only 2.00).... so I think the treated lumber is best option

You can space them most any way you want, but 3-4 ft will be easiest to work with.

Build the fence just like you'd build a wall, but keep in mind "poultry net" isn't going to keep predators out

i used the word poultry netting.... but it is the 1' galvanized wire.... if that makes a difference....would you create a 6 x 8 panel  or a 2x4 free standing support column every 4 to 8 ft
