Incubator Knowledge Really Needed!

Thread Starter

I recieved an incubator that has 3 trays that are 24.5 " by 12.5 and 2' deep.  There are 2 bars running the long way. What size of eggs is this for(came from an emu farm), and how can I make it usable for black sexlink & Isa brown chicken eggs.

do I need to adjust the bars?

how many eggs will it hold?

Post a picture of it, but i think any incubator will do just as long as humidity an heat are adjustable. Also if it came from and emu farm its probably for the emu eggs.

Its my girlfriend and I, my mom and dad, little brother and sister, Chavo(pitbull), boomer(chihuahua), bella(pony), 3 goats, two cockatiels, 48 chickens; Hens; 16 red stars, 1 rir, 6 austrolaups, 1 buff orphington, 2 barred plymoth, 4 old english bantams, 1 easter egger, 2 modern game. Cocks: 4 old english bantam, 1 modern game, 2 game/red star, 1 austrolop. Chicks: 7. =]

Reading here and looking at your other post it sounds as if you might have a Sportsman or Sportsman style cabinet incubator. You can learn quite a lot about them on the GQF site here.https://www.gqfmfg.com/store/front.asp

The divider bars you describe were probably added by the former owner. In a Sportsman the eggs are usually held in trays like these or something similar. http://www.ebay.com/itm/220994609918?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:VRI&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2661

Removing the divider bars and using a set of trays like these would give you an incubating capacity of 288 eggs.

You smell that? Do you smell that? Broody poop, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that.

I love the smell of broody poop in the morning.

It smells like... progeny
