Tumor or abscess? *****Update*****

I think my barred Rock Franny has a cyst as well. Can anyone identify this? It started off small, I took the first photo on Oct 7, last year so 10 months ago. I took the other one this morning so you can see it's grown quite a bit. It is warm to the touch & has blood flow to it. Franny seems fine, laying nearly every day and right thru the winter months (& she's 5 years old!) it doesn't seem to bother her but it's pretty gross & im scared it's going to explode one day. Suggestions?

Okay, just to clarify, are you spraying it on chickens or the coop, or both? Is it effective for lice as well? Is it safe to eat their eggs while being treated? I am having a heck of a time getting rid of whatever is causing itching, redness and feather loss. I haven't seen mites (treat the coop regularly) but that doesn't prove anything and have not seen lice for awhile, but the symptoms persist.
I would NEVER use dog and cat spray on chickens. The best thing I use for mites is putting diatomaceous earth food grade in your coop. I use it in their dust baths, but after cleaning the coop with vinegar water, you can powder down the perches with diatomaceous earth. I would use vasoline on the legs of chickens with leg scales turning white and lifting up. The vasoline suffocates the mites. Use Ivermectin pour on (liquid, its for cattle) on chickens back of necks with a small syringe without the needle. Just 0.1ml for a standard chicken.
I would also give any chickens with really white legs and lifting scales some B12 and or Nutridrench.
