I am so inspired! I want to do that too. How long has it taken you to get to the point you are at now? I would like to be as self sustainable as possible and maybe make a little money on the side. I am lucky that I do not have a house payment so really the expenses are bills which run about 25 for water, 70 for power, 55 for cable and 78 for the phone, and it varies for groceries. I try to use coupons sometimes but I am trying to get away from processed foods. I work from home from time to time through oDesk if I have a project otherwise I am free to do my yard and garden. My bf usually takes care of the groceries and the bills.
I want to be able to grow the chickens to a slightly larger scale and incorporate some other things which could be used by us as well as being able to use as a little income. I am still thinking about the dairy goats but most likely I will get the nigerian dwarfs. I had never thought of rabbits before but it might be worthwhile to think about it. I want things that we could use for ourselves and not have to buy as much in groceries.
I am very thankful for your posts because they have given me some guidance as to things I could do. I love advice. :)
So here is a little picture of my home sweet home:
This first one is the front which you can view from the road.
The seoncd is the entrance from the side which is our main entrance.
The third is the back deck
