@bobbieschicks- Thank You SO much for taking the time to post the pics! It is VERY helpful! So I will see BIG differences in the roos and the pullets in the next few weeks! How exciting!
@StarLover21 That would be GREAT if the 2 LO that look alike are pullets and I only have 1 LO roo! I hope you are correct. I automatically associated them with them being roos because they were larger and they got their combs first. The other one doesn't really have feathers yet, I have heard that males in certain breeds feather out later than females. I don't know if that is true for LO. I can keep them I live out in the country on 2.5 acres. I only built a large chicken tractor and was planning on building a small grazing pen that I could put them in to graze them around the property to get rid of weeds and help the yard. I am concerned about the roosters attacking me or my kids- at that point though I would be able to butcher them pretty easy...especially if it was the kids. I also don't want roosters harassing and abusing my hens. I want very happy hens who are friendly and not worrying about the drama of a bunch of roosters. I do have a friend who is going to get chickens and he wants a rooster in each pen. So he may want to take some of them. I don't think I will be able to find homes for all of them. Do you have experience with keeping roosters?
