What are they?

My son bought these 4 at TSC for me to raise for his kids. He has no idea what kind they are. I don't know much about ducks. I was guessing 4 female Mallards?

They look like Mallards as I can only see one stripe. Rouens will have two. : )

Breeding White and Colored Sebastapols, American Buffs

 

Ducks~Buff Orpingtons, Magpies, Muscovys, and others

 

Calls~ White, Chocolated Bibbed, Black Bibbed, Grey, and other colors

 

Chickens~ Light & Coronation Sussex, Seramas, and Splash Cochins

there is no way to know if they are female yet.

do they all 4 quack? if so then they are females.

if not they either males, or too young.

they arent old enough to have the bright green heads,

as they get older they will get them,

its a zoo here:

12 call duck....2 geese -1 female saddleback pom. ....1american buff.

10 peafowl chicks <3

2 bantam cochins....

5 silkie hens and 4 splash juvis....

6 goats.....2 ponies....3beef cows.

an african grey parrot....2 fish tanks...

6hermit crabs... 3 betas... a turtle

and some guineas (all ages)

They quack but I haven't payed attention to who's doing the quacking. I'll have to see if I can tell.

only the females will quack. males will have a raspy voice and be alot more quiet.

Pick them up one by one and find the quacker.  If any are raspy (like CG said)  that's a boy.  

 

I'm trying to tell from the bill, but the pic is a little too dark and far away for me.  

One city boy husband that I'm converting to a poultry boy, 3 daughters, 3 Mallards, 2 dogs, one cat: and the bator's plugged in.  Hatching addict, BYC addict and you can find me in the forum "formerly known as hatch day is today" with my friends: Miss Lydia, Critterrun, StillMecle, GrannyCarol, JulieNKC, DuckGirl89, 70%Cocoa, Evelle and JazminesZoo.  I love my Gurlz!
