2 kids, 4 chickens and 1 husband in Washington!

Hello!!! My name is Stephanie and my family is new to the chicken world! My mom has a few chickens that they have for eggs and the kids have had a blast, so when our town last year finally made it okay for us to have chickens we took the plung!! We currently have 2 ameracaunas and a rhode island red and a new hampshire red. They are just adorale and are starting to lose their baby fluff now. I did lots of reading and asking of questions before we decided on this adventure. And so far it has been smooth sailing! My two kids are ages 6 and 8 and have really taken a likeing to their chickens. I call them the lil Peepers. However the kids have named all of our girls... We have Bella, and Green Lantern Girl, those are our Ameracaunas. I just got our other two today and am thinking of names. We are very excited about them! The dogs have shown a real intrest in trying to be mamas. Ha Ha! The cats are curious but have stayed back! I only let them see once and I was right there. Right now they are living in my sewing room while they grow! I am building their coop and run as we are not allowed to let them be loose and we have to many wild animals here in town, hawks, eagles and then the neighborhood cats and dogs.

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and to have the chance to learn more about our chickens! Have a wonderful day!!!
