No, I was actually just about to do that.

I've got 2 cats, Dyllen and Star. I have 17 chickens; 3 BLRW, 3 mutts, 2 EEs, 2 White Rock roosters, 1 RIR, 1 White Leghorn, 1 Red Star, 1 Golden Campine, 1 unknown hen, 1 Partridge cochin, and 1  Golden Polish. I also have 1 Swedish/Black Indian Runner laying on 8 eggs.

Well I still have chicks hatching...and it day 24 (i think) Craziest hatch I have ever had. I have had 3 chicks with partially absorbed yoke sacs, and 1 weird air bubble on the neck of a chick. So far I have had 2 die while hatching, they died while zipping. so sad. I just hope the rest of them make it out of their shells!

Well, I candled them and they look dead. I am going to wait until tomorrow morning just to be sure (I already have a batch waiting). I'll have to do an egg-topsie to see if I can figure out what I did wrong... Sigh.

So far out of the 11 that made it to day 18 I have had 6 completely hatch and one that almost hatched. out of that seven I only have 3. the one from Thursday did not make it. But I had one hatch yesterday and is looks healthy. all the yolk and has been absorbed. I sill have 4 more eggs in there that have not even pipped. 2 pm today will make day 22 so Im going to give it till sun or mon to see if they hatch. I have  already moved the 2 from wed out to the brooder and they are doing fine. I checked on them about 20 mins ago and they were sitting there under the light. most of the day they were about a foot from the light which lets me know it is warm enough out there. I checked the temp several times over about 3 hours before I took them out there. so far so good. I did have some major temp fluctuations it would go from about 95 up to 102. I didn't think it stayed that high for too long but from the ones that hatch early Im thinking that it did. I don't have a thermostat nor a fan in there. I did not have one. I will put both in this next batch. but I will make sure that the humidity and temp holds a little more steady before I but the new batch in.

I just did an egg-topsie. Only one was fully developed! The one that was fully developed was really big, and looked shrink wrapped.

I gave up and egg-topsied today... only one was anywhere near fully developed. It had its egg-tooth, but had not started absorbing the yolk. It looked to have died without being correctly oriented to hatch, as well. I'm wondering if, even though I have fans in the (homemade) bator, I should assume its large size means I should treat it like one without forced air, and crank up the heat a bit more.
I will try again another time. *sigh*

So...... I got another chick today!! Crazy!! I dont even know what day of incubation it is at this point. I didn't think that any other chicks would make it out. I had two yesterday that zipped, but died just at they were about to pop open. They looked shrink wrapped, but my humidity is at about 75%.... I really want to clean out the incubator because it stinks sooo bad sickbyc.gif but now I am afraid that another egg will hatch. so many problems.
