If shes not eggbound then what?

We have a 3 yr. old hen who is bloated, hunched over and unstable. I have gotten suggestions that she might be eggbound, but she only has some of the symptoms. What else could it be?

Does she waddle when she tries to walk???  If so, I'd guess eggbound as well.  Have you tried a warm bath and lube job???  It's worth a shot.  Is the bloated or swollen place under her vent but above her thigh area of her rear end???  If so, I'd doubly guess eggbound.

could you post a picture?

I am thinking she might be an internal egg layer, rather then egg bound.

We did the warm bath/"lube job" and so far no egg, and we didn't feel one. She did squirt out some whiteish/yellowish liquid whch makes me thiink an egg might have broken. I'll post a pic. later, she is sleeping curled up in a pile of hay, so you can't see much now.

When you say that she's bloated do you mean an all over, most of her body type bloat?  Or more just in the area below the vent?  If she has generalized body bloat that is more likely ascites.  Accumulation of fluid in the body cavity generally caused by a circulatory problem.
