California Quail help
They cannot live with Chickens, its best off that you feed them proper quail feed or a gamebird mix of around 26% protein. They are best kept in pairs or colonies and need a good amount of room per birds, whether it be a large aviary or wire cages. You cannot let them live on shavings as they are very sensitive. Its best you have a padded roof if they live on wire cages as they will fly into the roof. If they live in a large aviary there should be lots of plants and other foliage. There are lots of pen plans and ideas all over the web. Google images gives you a good idea. Just browse the internet as well as Backyard Chickens, you can find a lot of information.
Best of Luck
