WHATS GOING ON.....I KEEP GETTING TINY YOLKLESS EGGS ???

Thread Starter
hello everyone... in the last few days I keep getting these tiny eggs( smaller than a ping pong ball) from my 1 year old rir. Hens who usually lay large or extra large eggs. Also I cracked one open and it had no yolk... any ideas why???

These eggs have many names, one of the most common would be the 'wind egg'. The yolk will usually start the egg production cycle. Sometimes, however, a piece of tissue or material from the internals may come loose, and be mistaken for a yolk. Then a shell is created around this tissue. 'Wind eggs' are just a goof in the egg production process, and usually nothing to worry about.
