Processed quail for the first time

I have 60 birds to do, but tonight was a test with only six. It wasn't bad at all. I wrote up a blog entry with pictures.

And I can't get the link to work.

Nice pics!  Out of curiosity, are they hard to house?  A friend of mine has bird dogs and tried to get some quail to have the dogs flush... and she had a big escapee problem (and I know they supposedly recall, but these guys wanted nothing to do with it!).

 

There's a guy around here that has the jumbo quail for sale at 8 weeks... its been a long time since I've eaten any but maybe I'll go grab a few birds!

Sadly, soon to be chickenless :(

Not too hard, once my husband built a couple of hutches for them. They really do want a whole square foot per bird once they're adults though.
