Yep! I was just actually browsing a thread the other day where a member put two double yolk eggs in an incubator, and one of them successfully hatched two chicks. Only one made it from the other egg. She took a video of the hatch and everything. It was pretty neat!

If you were to hatch that egg the chick would come out full grown .    L.O.L.jumpy.gif

Hello Fierlin,

You made me curious so I decided to look up egg sizes on the Internet. The first table is for the USA and the second for Australia where I come from:

My chooks are all adopted so I'm not sure how old they are. We've had them for nearly a year now and when we first got them, they were already all laying.

Cheers,

Gold Coaster

I would think those categories would only apply to single-yolkers? I haven't got a clue. lol.png But it's pretty normal to get multiple yolks once in a while, I've heard stories of three yolks, although never gotten one of those myself.

P.S. Australia? I thought your username rang a bell. I've been in Adelaide for almost five years now. frow.gif

Hello everyone,

I finally cracked open Rosie's whopper egg and lo and behold it only had one yolk. So it really was a monster of an egg and not a double yolker. I gave it to my chooks for a breakfast feast this morning with a couple of slices of bread. It gave a whole new meaning to eggs on toast - yum! big_smile.png

Cheers,

Hello GentlyLiving,

Thank you, it sure was a beauty! It's all been gobbled up now by four little D.gif D.gif D.gif D.gif

This morning Rosie laid her usual 68g egg, so everything is back to normal.

Cheers,

Out of curiosity I looked up the world record for the largest chicken egg, it was a whopping 201 grams!

Although yours was not this large it was HUGE!!!!
