Hello Everyone!!! Moving to Colorado!!

Thread Starter

Hi Everyone!!!

My name is Melanie. I have been married to my best friend, Nick for over 12 years. We have four kiddos, Cameron is 11, Natalie &   Sydney are 7 (YES!! Twin Girls) and Ben is 6. We are living in San Diego, Ca right now. We are a Marine Family who are closing their Chapter of being a Military Family. As sad as it is for us, since this is all my kids have known. But we are excited to start a new Chapter in our lives.

My husband has gotten a job in Commerce City, Colorado. He will be doing a lot of traveling. Anyway, I have always wanted to have chickens and now that we won't be in military housing, it will be a dream that will be reality. I have been "stalking" this website for a month now. But I thought I would register and introduce myself now that we know where we are going. My husband will be doing training for about a total of 5 months give or take some. We will be staying with family in MO probably. But after that we will be relocated to Colorado.

I was hoping you could give us some suggestions on areas that we could rent a home with hopes of a chicken friendly Landlord. We are hoping to be in the outskirts of Commerce City. WE are open to a commute of 30-45 min. A small town or rural feel. Any suggestions or insights are welcome.

I have learned so much already from you all, thank you so much. ANd I hope to be posting pictures of my chickens very soon.

Thanks so much.smile.png

It's the shape that makes the breed, and the color that makes the variety.

Helen: Daria, do you have to look at everything in such a negative light?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?
