Not really sure what to write on here... Just got my first set of hens and we are sooo excited to see what this will do for our family. We are still building our chicken coop! One paycheck at a time unfortunately! It is what it is tho! They are so fun to watch and could sit by their box for hours watching them! Got ours at Tractor Supply (surprise from hubby). They are reds. Not sure exact breed. We shall see! Love the articles on this website! Thanks!

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan big_smile.png

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,
one fat pony, and many (but not too many!) chickens

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?

Hello and welcome-byc.gif
Perhaps you could post a picture in What breed or gender is this and you'll be able to get your chickens identified! Glad you've joined, and enjoy your journey with chickens. It is great fun to just observe what they do every day, I used to get up early just to watch my chicks. tongue.png

Hello and welcome!  I got four of my feathered kids from the red pullet bin at our tractor supply.  They are four and a half weeks old now and Super Friendly!!  Check out my photo album and see if they look like yours.  Mine, I think, are "production red".  The four possibilities listed on the tag were Rhode Island Red, New Hampshire Red, Red Sex-link and Production.

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?
