Will ducks interbreed?

Thread Starter

I have a small flock of indian runners but a friend is getting rid of hers and giving me some white mallards, pekins, and welsh harlequins. Now will they all interbreed or will they only mix with their breed? Should i separate them all in separate pens?

yes the will interbreed.  if you want pure ducklings then you should seperate them, but if you don't care or don't plain on hatching any then put them together.  i would quarintine the new guys to make sure there healthy.  You might have to entroduce them slowly, ducks dont always get along at first

3 ducks: 2 pekins munchkin and nugget, and a mallard rammy.

Well that's good to know. I was wondering the same. I have Rouen and Pekin running together and I just set 6 eggs in the incubator to see if they are fertile. Wonder what they'll look like if they hatch...
