Will you post your pictures please?

Heres my two birds from many years ago, but they were my favorites of all the birds I have had (theres one more but I cant find any pictures of her at the moment. She was Stonewall, a silver laced wyandotte hen, and the last of our chickens since I was in Army and my parents were not about to replace them after we lost her.) and I feel, since they hold such reverence with me, their pictures and stories deserve to be shared.

Heres Judy. He was a straight run D'Uccle I got on March 13, which was my grandma's birthday so he got named after her. At the time it was mostly just wishful thinking that it was pullet, until one morning she started to crow. We kept him anyways, even though he was somewhat irritating to our neighbors, and most especially my mother. He had a case of Napoleon Syndrome I guess since he would try to beat up anyone who came in the run to collect eggs. My poor mother would have to go in there with a broom to keep him away. For some reason though he looked to me for frindship. He would perch on my shoulder and ride around with me, he was very sweet if he took a liking to you. He got sent to a farm down in N. Mexico within hours of my leaving for Basic Training, I guess mom and dad just couldn't wait to get to get to sleep in for once haha.

And this is the backside of Roberta E. Lee (and Judy). She was my mothers absolute FAVORITE hen. She was my first chicken, along with her sister, Zim, who we lost to a predator a few short months later. All winter long Roberta was alone, so I emptied out a drawer in my dresser and put newspaper in it and she slept in my bedroom with me until we could get her some companions in the spring. She was the dearest thing in the world and what has made me fall in love with brahmas and they are my absolute favorite breed to this day. She definately ruled the roost though, even, Judy wouldn't contest that. When he was a young cockeral he tried to mount her a few times (with the size difference it wouldn't have amounted to much anyways), always to be turned away with a sharp peck in the head from the "Queen." Eventually he learned his place as #2 and was content to be stuck in the "friend zone" with her. I was at equipment operator school in Ft. Leonard Wood about 4 years later when I got news that she had been taken by a unkown bandit as well.

Now we have 4 new chickens. 2, 5 week old light brahmas, T-Rex and Princess Peach and, a 2 week old buff cochin and blue silkie, Brunhilda and Zepplin. Time will only tell the fun stories we can share about these guys!

Brunhilda, on the left and Zepplin, on the right.
