It's Friday, the 13th... and setting eggs - Page 14

I have 20 Brahma eggs at day 20, 2 are pippng so excited. Keeping fingers crossed all goes well. Good luck to all of you, wishing everyone a fabulous hatch. Think I will take pics of the 1st hatchee from pip to hatch.

Raising my multi-variety Brahma flock from scratch.  I have hatched out all but my 4 original lite hens.  I have 5 Buff Laced, 2 Gold Laced (and 5 eggs in the bater) 2 Silver Laced (1 egg in the bater), 3 Dark chicks, so sweet and 2 buffs. I've sold a few extras and the new owners just love them.

I don't know if wiggling is good, aside from telling me they are ok   lol

They are real still now, maybe they're saving up their energy.  Is there anyway to tell when a pip is coming?  I'm sure that's a dumb question.

If you look closely you can see a small crack in the front egg.  Mama chicken steeped out for a quick minute so I took advantage of that to take a look.  Another egg has a small pip, but I didn't see any wiggles or hear anything.

:)

Well, 6 are hatched. One was zipped early this afternoon and I think it died. Not sure why. I did the dry incubation this time, only raising the humidity at lockdown. So sad to see it made it that far only to die. hu.gif I hope that doesn't happen to the others.

6 no pips and two out of the shell chirping loud and stumbling about. Worried sick about chick #2 it's head seems large and shaped weird and breathing seems labored. hit.gif Waiting for a video to upload then I'll start a new thread seeking help.

Dawn so sorry about your little chick! sad.png Hopefully it is just resting. This whole hatching thing is such a roller coaster ride!

You're not alone.  I haven't had any signs of hatching either, but I'm a day behind because I set my eggs on the 14th.  Hopefully tomorrow!  :)

Me either. I set mine on the 13th, late that night, so I probably won't even have a pip until tomorrow nite. I sure will be glad when I see SOMETHING... or hear a peep?  Good luck to all...

Nothing here yet, either.

It finally hatched! It had piped when I got up this morning, with no progress all day. I was going crazy!  When it finally started zipping, it was out within an hour. Sweet little buff silkie. No action yet from the other 13 eggs.
