We were told that it was a Dominique, but now I'm thinking it's a Barred Rock.

The yellow one is either a Buff Orpington or a New Hampshire.

The barred chick is a Barred Rock. It has a straight comb and Doms have a rose comb.

Showing Modern Game Bantams and Self Blue d'Anvers! We also have a small flock of pets/layers.

they yellow one looks buff to me, my new hampshire was quite a bit more burnt golden colour than yellow.

Married to DH (who loves farm equipment but not farming), no kids, a very OLD greyhound rescue (15years), a black lab, a german shorthaired pointer, welsummers, ameraucanas, buff orpingtons, barred rocks, easter eggers, various mutt chickens that lay brown eggs, 2 cats and 2 clydesdales

Yep, I'm thinking number one is a Production Red or New Hampshire. And like Juliechick said above, #2 is a Barred Rock.

It's the shape that makes the breed, and the color that makes the variety.

This picture may be a little better of the yellow one. It does seem to have alot of red in it's wings and a reddish tint on its head.
