New chick with goopy stuff

Thread Starter

There's some goopy stuff stuck from the chicks belly to the bottom of the egg shell and he can't get free.  Is that the yolk sack not absorbed or is this normal?

First time hatcher very nervous!

Thanks

That sounds like it's the yolk sac.  If it's stuck with a little string of dried membrane, you could nip that with some clean scissors.  Just make sure it's kind of dried up where you nip, so you don't cause any bleeding.
