Home made treat cakes

This has probably been discussed before but I couldn't find it so I figured I would post anyway.

Treat cakes are cheap and easy to make at home. We hang the cakes in the run above some tree branches that we placed in there. The chickens get exercise and entertainment as they climb around to get at the cakes and we get some good chicken watching out of it.

• 3/4 c. flour
• 1/2 c. water
• 3 T. corn syrup
• 4 c. of scratch mix or treats like nuts and dried fruit

Mix first three ingredients in a bowl with a whisk
Add treats and mix thoroughly
Spread mix into cookie sheet or cake pan lined with wax paper
Cover with wax paper and compress TIGHTLY with hands or rolling pin
Set aside for about 5 hours, then cut into squares
Allow to dry for another six hours
You're done!
