A chick who doesn't cheap. Is she okay?

We have been chicken owners for 2 weeks now and so far so good!

One question though . . We have a welsummer chick who appears to be mute (?). Unlike the others, this one opens her mouth to chirp, but there is never any sound.

Should we be worried?

Not sure I have an answer to your question. I wouldn't think its anything to worry about. Maybe some others will have an answer for ya.

Silver Laced Wyandotte's, Silkies, Ameraucana's, Easter Egger's, Belgian d'anvers, Leghorns, California Whites, Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rocks, Black Australorps, Buff Orpingtons, one Black Jersey Giant rooster, Guinea's, Ducks, and one Sweetgrass turkey tom.

Our Welsummers were some of our quietest chicks. Once the pullets started laying several of them found their voice, the others are still some of the quiet ones of the flock.

1 handy lovable hubby, 2 talented, loving sons, 2 precious daughters-in-love, 5 brilliant, beautiful, amazing grandchildren.

39 chickens, 6 turkeys and 5 guineas.


Blessed beyond measure, showered with blessings, standing on the promises.
