seem like a good breed, if i had the room i would probably raise a batch of them they seem like they would be a good 4h starter show bird...considering i dont see many of this breed in my class...

Found one of my chickens dead tonight. Dont know from what. No apparent attack from anything and she seemed pefectly healthy. The only thing that it could be was she stole a piece of pizza from my daughter today and ate some cheese befor they could get it back. Could that be it??

I've given my chicken cheese before and it didn't hurt a thing. Was there any tackling involved or jostling of the chicken?

no, I frequently clean out the fridge, and chickens eat anything without any worse for them, it was not the cheese or the pizza.

Sometimes things just die. And then sometimes things live against incrediable odds.

Life is funny, but this was not your fault.

A six-month-old hen of mine was absolutely fine in the morning and I found her dead in the coop in the afternoon. Someone later suggested to me that it might have been "egg yolk stroke". Whatever it was that killed your bird, I doubt very much it could have been the pizza. Very sorry for your loss.
