I told my sis about corn cob jelly and we plan on trying it. my mom, sis and i all can togather and mom is more of a jelly maker, then we are. I will get my rose petal recipe from her tomorrow and post it. I cant remember how many roses you use for the juice. Mainly you cover the petals with water and boil them down. then you use the juice like any other fruit juice to make the jelly. We made the purple hull pea hull jelly and it was awesome. it did taste like mahaw, but was just a little stronger tasting! I'll post the recipes tomorrow!

I am freezing corn today. I was looking for a Corn Cob Jelly recipe. I found one that is the same as the one posted here but you can use sweet corn cobs too.

I bought some Corn Cob Jelly from the Amish. It was good.

I am freezing the corn & making Corn Cob Jelly. It smells so good. I will feed the corn cobs to my pig.

I agree with prices soaring, WASTE NOTHING!!

Just wanted to add, that the jelly smells like honey when it is cooking!!

Interesting!! I've never even heard of corn cob jelly. Maybe I will try some when the corn harvest hits peak here.

Choke cherry jelly is what my Gram used to make. Am planning on going to visit my Aunt, who still lives in my Grams house, and harvest some from her backyard. I inherited all my Grams canning supplies (including a Presto pressure canner and probably a hundred jars ) when she passed away a month ago.

Now all my relatives expect me to step in her shoes and make the families "secret recipe" bread and butter pickles. Only problem is, no one has found the recipe...so maybe Gram wanted to make sure it stayed a secret.

I made strawberry Jam for the first time ever a few weeks ago. Even picked our own Maine Strawberries. It came out awesome!!

Waiting for the blueberries and raspberries (on our own property...BRAG...

) to get ripe and will make some jam and freeze some of those. And a good friend of mine has a blackberry patch I'll harvest from, too. That patch is meaner then heck, but the berries are sooo worth it,
