RIP Fuffles

Thread Starter

A very sad event occured this evening. As I went to check on the chicks, I noticed Fuffles, the black austrolorp, that hasn't had nearly as much growth as the others, in an uncomfortable state. He lied spread out with his body in a deformed manner. I quickly lifted the cover to the brooder and poked at him. Nothing. No heartbeat was in the poor lifeless chick. I fell into deep despair and I cannot stop my overwhelming feelings of sorrow and grief. It's life though, and it will live up to the name.

RIP Fuffles

Goodnight

Connor

I am so sorry about your loss, did he/she have any symptoms of sickness before?

It's the shape that makes the breed, and the color that makes the variety.

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?

I'm so sorry Conner...I'm sure your little Fuffles felt very loved while he was in your care. It sounds like he wasn't right to begin with, and I'm sure there was nothing you could have done. Hope you feel better soon hugs.gif

So sorry to hear about your poor baby chick.  Your other chicks are very lucky to have someone taking care of them that cares so much.  Good luck with the rest of your birds.

It all starts when you get a couple cute little chicks, then the next thing you know............
