Hello from Palmer Alaska!

Hello from Palmer Alaska!  I've used this site a bunch planning my flock, and now that the chicks are here it was time I joined up.  I have 15 chicks total (3 white silkies, 3 buff silkies, 3 light brahmas, and 2 each buff rocks, barred rocks, and partridge rocks).  I had only planned 6 or so to start, but to meet online order minimums my friend and I ordered more, and now I'm so attached to all of mine I can't give any up.  They're a week old and in our living room in a brooder.  We are planning on modifying an old shed to house them in, and so I've just started going through the many fabulous designs on this website.  Feeling a little overwhelmed but in a good way yippiechickie.gif (wow these icons are adorable.

Eleven chickens, born spring 2012:  1 Barred Plymouth Rock, 2 Buff Plymouth Rocks, 1 Partridge Plymouth Rock, 1 White Silkie, 3 Buff Silkies (2 hens and a roo), and 3 Light Brahmas.

Helen: Daria, do you have to look at everything in such a negative light?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?

“If loving someone is putting them in a straitjacket and kicking them down a flight of stairs, then yes, I have loved a few people.” "Many people hear voices when no one is there. Some of them are called mad and are shut up in rooms where they stare at the walls all day. Others are called writers and they do pretty much the same thing.”

People in Alaska don't tan, they thaw
