What is your favorite time with your birds?

My mornings are rushed getting ready for work. I give my hens fresh water, food and do a quick check they are all ok. After work  I open a bottle of wine and let my girls out into my yard. Watching them doing chicken thing while relaxing with a drink is my favorite time with them. What is yours?

Can I come over when you open your wine?  tongue.png

Sounds lovely.

My mornings are rushed as well.  I have to let them out at the butt-crack of dawn now that I moved them into their new coop - it has more windows, therefore more light - earlier - PLUS I've added 8 new pullets (I don't really want them all locked up together yet).  After I let the girls out & throw a little scratch, I have to leave to feed the horses.

So MY favorite time with my girls is early afternoon.  When they are sunning and dust bathing and chillaxing in the shade - today - I'm going to sit out there and get some sun on my legs...

It's such a peaceful thing - watching the hens...

Wow, I hadn't realized how lucky I am to be retired. No rushing in the morning and I have all day to drink wine.

Oh yeah, and look at the chickens. Yeah, the chickens

On the weekends its defiantly first thing in the morning. The birds are just itching to get outside. I here them waiting by the door. when I open the hatch its pure pandemonium. Running and flying out. They are so happy at that point in time. Weekdays, its after work work. we have a sitting area down by the coop, very relaxing.

I just moved my chickens outside, so I don't have a routine yet, but I love that whenever I go over to their pen, they all run over to meet me. I also love when I'm sitting in a lawn chair under one of the trees and they crowd around my black lab, hunting for bugs and hiding under her.  I'm so proud when my kids get along!

We have a dozen different breeds of chickens and we love them all!
