These are my first chickens, gifts from a daughter for Christmas. Once they started laying, it's rare to have a day without one egg from each hen. They come when I call them, stay close to the...
I have six Japanese Bantams. Five hens and one rooster. Grace, Zoey, Lemon, DeLacey, and DeLaney are the hens, and George Tucker is my rooster. They make up about 1/5 of my chickens. I have all...
I just LOVE my sicilian buttercup, Poppy. Anytime I go outside she loves to hop up onto my back or my arm. She's very curious and loves to he held or played with. I've also noticed that she loves...
My Brown Leghorns are very good natured, and easy to care for. they lay well and lay large eggs. You can count on a dozen plus out of this coop every 4 days with only three hens laying. I get a...
I wil PM you also, but I had a dismal 4/20 hatch for my official Mother's Day group. I had some nasty temp swings for some reason and I am afraid the other 16 got fried. We had outside temps that varied 20 degrees in a day so that may have been part of it. I wanted to cry.
BUT, the great news is that the hatch I have happening right now has gorgeous little Mille Fleur Leghorns (from Cheryl Cohen's beauties) pipping and popping out everywhere. I will try to get some pictures when I get home. They are adorable babies

Well, somehow there was one... not sure what happened with the others, they were rocking and rolling and never even pipped, it is so heartbreatking. I don't know what I did wrong.
Somehow this little one made it out... my lonley Buckeye chick.
So incubator one 1/16 = not even a 1% hatch rate... let's see what incubator 2 does, due tomorrow. *heavy sigh*

Recheck your math--1/16 is far better than 1% !!! I just had a 0/7 hatch. My first zero hatch, so I know how you feel.

absolutely.. I swap eggs around from bator to bator all the time
think of it this way.. if the temps are the same... why not?.. they are just going from one warm place to another... it's no different than removing eggs to weigh them or to candle them
Thank you! Tomorrow!
Wonderful family, very understanding husband when it comes to chickens, dogs, birds, one big Golden Retriever, and thankful to the Lord for all!
