I just fired up the bator and will set 12 Maran eggs at noon!

Homeschooling mom of four kids, two dogs, three cats, 6 Buff Orpingtons hatched on Christmas Day, 16 Hatchery Choice Pullets, 6 TSC Red Pullets all hatched on 2/22, 8 babes hatched 3/21, 9 babies hatched on May 11th. Sixteen Easter Eggers hatched Sept 1, two White Ameraucana hatched Sept 5th...and trying to resist the urge to fill the incubator!

My incubator is holding steady at 99-100 degrees. *crosses fingers* long as it stays that way, the eggs will go in at noon! I'm going to be attempting to dry hatch, which I've never intentionally tried before.  (But maybe that's why I always had great hatch rates as a kid. I was terrible about remembering to add water. LOL) Humidity is floating between 20-25%.

I'm serious now, I'm probably going to have to convert the spare bedroom to a brooder - seriously  ------ Who at BYC will tell me not to start a hatch today....Please some onejumpy.gif .......
 

 

gig.gif I've already pretty much done that!   Now I keep saying, I need to get this stuff out of here, clean my room to cutsie again, and stop hatching.  I have plenty of chickens for now.  But wait, I have some Maran eggs coming form winning a prize in that last hatch a long..soo..will be using the room a bit longer I guess.   tongue.png

Wonderful family, very understanding husband when it comes to chickens, dogs, birds, one big Golden Retriever, and thankful to the Lord for all!

I can't set more.  Relative newbie here (haven't hatched in years) and my oldest kids are at the most 3 weeks.  I don't think any amount of begging will get an egg of of those girls! lol

I gave our broody turkey 8 mutt heritage turkey eggs last night.. she may have added a few others.. I'll have to check her later today to see what she's sitting on.. they won't hatch for mother's day... but at least she's happy now!

I ordered eggs to have for the CdM and now my three hens are pumping out the eggs. Set more turkey eggs today !!
