I am in. I am going to set some Maran eggs. My last batch of 13 turned out way more little roo's so I need to replace them and try to get a few more pullets.

Jakk... Homeschooling mom of four kids, two dogs, three cats, 6 Buff Orpingtons hatched on Christmas Day, 16 Hatchery Choice Pullets, 6 TSC Red Pullets all hatched on 2/22, 8 babes hatched 3/21, 9 babies hatched on May 11th. Sixteen Easter Eggers hatched Sept 1, two White Ameraucana hatched Sept 5th...and trying to resist the urge to fill the incubator!

i have eggs in the bators almost 365 days a year... not sure if I will set any on the correct day...... so we'll see!

(just added 5 more eggs from an experimental coop to one of the bators... I think I live for staggered hatches!)

I give up... I have been lurking on this thread as I was having withdrawals after the Easter hatch-a-long.  I told myself that I needed to take a break from the incubators.  BUT...  A large box of eggs from a side swap will arrive tomorrow and will have just enough time to rest and warm up before being set.  So count me in  jumpy.gif

Hey ya'll!  May I join in too?  I'm new to all this and my first hatch failed but I was going to set more eggs this weekend anyway.  My bator will be a very broody Cornish hen and I'm hoping I get some babies this go round.  Any good advice for this newbie is appreciated!

My family and I live on a small hobby farm in western North Carolina in Lincoln County. My wonderful husband married me in November of 2011 and I got a daughter out of the deal which not only made me a new wife but an instant mom. We have 2 dogs (Kaluha and Jake), 2 Tennessee Walkers (Rebel and Ginger), 2 Fainting goats (Charlie and Willy) and a growing flock of chickens and peafowl.
