Beautiful  kittens and mom  looks like she is taking confinement well. The last time we took in a wild unwed mother cat she yowled for days before finally settling in to raise the kittens.

Well, because I am terribly impatient, I candled my eggs again when I went to turn them this afternoon after work. I can actually see at least three embryos! *excited* The others look like they have developed too, but I can't see any definitive veining or anything...just that the shadow inside the egg has grown larger.

But anyway, I'm wondering if I should increase the humidity; it's currently sitting in between 25-28%. The air cells already look fairly large in a few of the eggs (due to age I'm sure, plus being in the fridge...) and I'm worried that they're loosing too much moisture still. Thoughts?

I still have to load my egg pic! Sorry!

I candled today and I have 16 Australian Spotted Ducks growing, 4 Silkied Ameracaunas, and 3 others. I tossed 4 clears. I really want the Ameracaunas to hatch!
I'm looking for a local meeting for PHA (Pervy Humor Anonymous) and PFAA (Poultry and Fowl Addicts Anonymous). PM me with any meeting info...

I fit 6 ameraucana eggs under one broody (the one in my photo contest entry!), two under a hen who already has two clutches of serama eggs under her, and the 4 other serama eggs under a recently broody serama! I borrowed my neighbor's hovabator and if all goes well I can set the rest of the eggs tomorrow. Since my bator has plenty of room left, maybe I can add more eggs :p

In other news, my earlier clutch of serama eggs are finally hatching! One peeping, one pipping and one zipping! The four remaining eggs in my second clutch are in their second week and doing well.Once the second hatch is complete I'll give the poor broody a break and move the ameraucanas into the bator :)

I have a BBS large fowl pen that produces quite a few splash. I only ship eggs, though.
