To the coop

I am going to move my 16 chicks to the coop today. If they do well today I will leave them over night and let them be. I am going to add a heat lamp for them but they maynot need it. I have not used it in the brooder with them the last few days so we will see how they act out side. Is there anything I may be missing? Thanks

Just give them a bunch of fluffy litter to snuggle into at night.

How old are your chicks?  If they are all feathered out I would skip the heat lamp.  Mine are almost 5 weeks and did fine, even though it rained.

We have a dozen different breeds of chickens and we love them all!

I would say they ae about 90% feathered. They have plenty of freash litter so I think they will be fine.

Well they love the coop but one is now being nursed back to health. She broke her leg and we are going to try and save her. I dont know how this will work but we will see.

You can fix that broken leg, especially since she is so young.
