Where to hang feed and water?

Do you guys hang your feed and water from a rope or string or something where it can swing freely or more of a hard mount where it can't move? Does it matter either way? My chicks spent the first night in there coop last night and I just hung them from ropes and it didn't seem to be a problem but I was wanting to hear from the more experienced.

I use those things.....they have a hook on each end, I think they're called tie downs?  They're made of a black rubber, and the hooks are metal.  Hubby uses them to hold the trunk down if I have something too big stuck in there.....

I hope you can picture what I mean, but they do work great, because they don't swing or swivel around much, plus, you can easily remove the feeder for re-filling.

Bungee cords?

As far as the original poster goes, just about anything that works. I use rope in the brooder simply because as the chicks grow, I can adjust. That said, for my meat birds, which I just ordered 200 more, I use a bucket or trash can with PVC attached in which I install nipples. The long end is raised as they grow, but the storage container is housed on something solid. A 30 gallon trash can full of water weighs about 240lbs, which I imagine would crush a chick or two if it fell.
