Just got Silkies!! With pictures!! - Page 2

Great looking birds. We got 2 white silkies with our bantums this year, just so cute, could squeeze em!
1 greatly tolerant and participating husband, 2 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 gerbs, 2 hamsters, 1 guinea pig, 3 lionhead rabbits, several fish. My flock of untold number (really don't know and afraid to count) of chickens, 12 guineas, 4 Pekins, and 2 welsh harlequin ducks! Productions, J. Giants, asst bantums, EE, barred & white rocks, L.brahma, SLW, buckeyes, BO, and RIR.

I also have 10 chicks which three are white and 1 black silkie, 1 frizzle, 2 buff brahmas, 1 polish,  2 oe.....

i have black/blue, white, cuckoo, partridge silkies.. RIR, Dominique, Old english bantams, peahen , african geese, and alot of ducks, 5 dogs and a cat.

i have three broody hens now..instead of only getting two roosters like the lady said that is what i was getting i have four.

 

 

all three of my broody hens are sitting in the same nest.

i have black/blue, white, cuckoo, partridge silkies.. RIR, Dominique, Old english bantams, peahen , african geese, and alot of ducks, 5 dogs and a cat.

had two chicks hatch from the three broody hens so far more to come tomorrow.

6 out of seven eggs hatched but three were killed by the other hens smothering them...

i have black/blue, white, cuckoo, partridge silkies.. RIR, Dominique, Old english bantams, peahen , african geese, and alot of ducks, 5 dogs and a cat.

Enjoy them!  I love my Silkies and they will hatch out anything for you.  I get broodies in the middle of winter and they can still hatch out the chicks.
