Perfectly normal behaviour, right?  Not bordering on insane in any way shape or form.

Good luck to everyone.

lau.gif Well I really hope that is perfectly normal because I have been hovering over mine ever sense I woke up this morning! This is killing my back, knees and arms. My incubator is in my room tucked in the corner so no one or dog could bump it, and I don't have a chair. Might take a minute to go find one and move the computer in there as well!caf.gif  pop.gif  wee.gif

Hey guys, sorry I've been gone a while. April turned out to be a hella of a month for me.

Good news though is that I'm hatching! Gotta love my new BrinseaMini. Looks like I'll get some kind of awesome hatch rate for the first time ever. I'm really pleased their hatching well, since I usually have late hatches, and was planning on upping the humidty today. Got into work to see several pips, and they seem to be fine, so I'm just watching and seeing. If I see issues, I'll add the water. But it looks like an accidental dry incubation worked well for me!yesss.gif

I, of course, have no clue what the one I hatched is. It's fairly large, mostly yellow with a black patch in it's middle back. It's pretty tuckered from hatching, but very cute. I think it feels lonely and needs it brothers and sisters to come on out! jumpy.gif

Yea for good hatches! I finaly have one baby out!!!ep.gifI have 5 more pips. This baby seems tired but is running around the incubator like a mad woman..... Then she falls asleep for a second or two then right back to running around and knocking all the other eggs around! I acctually got to watch her hatch. She pipped this morning and then about 35 min ago out she came. What a trooper! I must come up with a great name for her!

Hope everyone elts is doing great. No time for spell check! Sorry.

Congratulations Farmin Momma.  ya.gif

Still just one chick, 2 pips and 2 lazy eggs at the moment here.  The chick is fluffing up beautifully and has been christened 'Evie'.  Post hatch behaviour was exactly as you describe for yours.  She's just starting to calm down a bit now (probably just resting before another bout of chaos and mayhem!)

KnD,

That's brilliant!  I have another one zipping and one more thinking bout it.  The other two are either going to be late or duds, time will tell.  Little Evie is just the cutest though.

Congratulations on your 4 so far!

celebrate.gifSo I have a total of 4 out. 4 more that are piped that I can see, then not sure about the rest guess we will just have to see.

This is my second full incubation, but my first that actually hatched!!!! (othere than broody momma) I am just thrilled.

I will probably wait a few months though before I do any more ( if I can hadle that) because my rooster Jax has some really dominate jeans. All the chicks come out mostly black with a bit of white or a bit of yellow. Now I do adore how my chicks look, but I would like to see a little bit of color variety in my chicks.

I have a RIR rooster that is 10wks old now so soon (sadly, as Jax is really nice and beautiful) I will rehome Jax and use the new roo and see what I get. Plus I want some Amber Whites which are a cross of RIR and White Leghorn. They are just beautiful!

So happy that so far non of us have had any chicks die, deformed or any of those other things. I hope that if any of us have duds that it is only one for all of us.

Congrats everyone!

I will post pic in a bit.

hit.gifSadly I am the one suffering losses. I have 4 hatched, one of which the yolk sack is coming back out and is a little bloody. Not moving around as much as the others and not hanging out with them.....

Also I had one that piped yesterday and another of the many that did today that both had very large pips but died before they could get the rest of the way out. Plus they still had active blood veins.

But on hopfuly a more positive note I still have two that are piped and 5 that have done nothing as of yetfl.gif

That's adorable (and a good idea). I hate it when my chicks go barreling around my incubator rolling around the other eggs! I want to yell "NO! STOP! They are trying to hatch right now!" But I usually can't do anything about it. But hey, that's a good idea, I might try that.

Oooh, so jealous of all of you guys and your chicks caf.gif

My lockdown just started today so you guys will be hearing from me Thursday....ish.

Congratulations to everyone who has had hatches so far!!
