Is that peafowl at the zoo male or female ? [Questioning colour] - Page 5

@ BigCreekPeafowl - I can surely try to ask them, though these guys aren't really specialists, all they know for sure is that these peafowls used to belong to my Grandma's sister. I doubt they've ever heard of other mutations/colours/patterns as Black Shoulder, or even just peach or anything. But I will try to ask nonetheless.

@ Frenchblackcopper - Shipping overseas ? I don't know if they do that. But hey, I can still try to ask as well ! lol.png

@ SuperPeacockman - Thank you for sharing your opinion as well. Apparently you guys do not think it's from dust bathing at all, I need to learn. lmao !

Geez these fowls, I'll have to visit more often, obviously. roll.png

Though do you guys think the one in Post 37 is a male ? I am not sure, and so I wanted to ask you guys. o:

I'm leaning towards a hen,,because the tail seems to "fit" the body size of the bird,,nothing really sticks out as a longer feather, and none look broken or out of place,,I do see some short pointy spurs tho but not really looking like a 2 year old males in size.

A hen uh ?

So those aren't the "scales" at the end of its back ?

Guess I might need more experience trying to sex them. xD

Well, I'll be going to the zoo again on Sunday, so hopefully I can find everyone again. wee.gif

It would greatly help if you knew the age of the bird which I know maybe impossible,,one thing tho,,this time next year if the tail isn't any longer,it is a hen,,

I couldn't indeed. hu.gif

But well, I've been looking a bit at the other peahens, turns out some have similar tails so figures, I'm guessing you're right saying this is a hen. ~

I don't know if they are harmful to peafowls, but I can't help the concern), and so I saw these two peahens. Of course, now these are looking like that because of dust, aren't they ?

I try to give you guys as many as I can so that you can tell me the difference (if any) between this colouring and the one in the first post. >.>

Is that the reason why you said the one in the first post is too uniform to be from dust bathing ?

It's not what they call ... pale leucism ?
