The 'Lotsa Poop Chicken Coop' ***Poop Drawer Update***

Sorry, but a plain old board under the roost just won't cut it for me. If the project doesn't require:

a) lot's of thinking
b) crummy engineering
c) at least 3 measurement mistakes (obviously caught and corrected by my wife)
and d) Miller lite

then it's not worth doing!!!!

You forgot the step of selling an organ on the black market to pay for the supplies.

Well,,,,today I mowed and sprayed the property. I'm not exactly sure what the wife was doing since I thought this was her job, but let's just say it looks really nice. Note: 7+ week old chickens don't like loud lawn tractors!

Now,,,,,,While mowing, the OLD brain started working. Oh yeah. The new Poop Board design has been completed in the old noggin. I might even go to Lowes tomorra and get a few things. It'll be raining, so what else can I do? Did you hear that Quig?????

I love it when a plan comes together!!!!

PS. I found an unopened package of those golden hooks. Put ur bids in now, 'cause I'm sure they're gonna go fast!!!

Today we sat down and tallied the receipts. Including tax (gotta pay for Uncle Jerry's programs) it came to right at $1,100. Keep in mind I already had the cinder blocks (an unfinished project) and the roofing materials. If I'd had to buy those I figure we could add around 200 bucks. But the poop board is gonna add at least another 15 bucks. Discover loves us!!! And it's raining tomorra. Heh-heh-heh. More westerns on TMC!!!!!

I love it when a plan comes together (name that loser show)! Lowes let me down, but I found these at Harbor Freight. Buck a piece. I bought four, so that's like,,,,um,,,,6 bucks!!

Time to build the drawer. This was a prototype (Yeah,,,again!!!) So I used scrap lumber. I wasn't gonna waste the good stuff in case this fiasco didn't work out (Yeah,,,again!). As a result it's twisted, but that's OK. 'Cause it works, and I have no problem building anotha'.

Put those little suckas on the bottom......

A couple of coats of semi-gloss so the poop don't stick....

More semi-Gloss on the ramps, then hung them with sturdy 'L' brackets at the ends, and little guys underneath in the middle.

The boards in the photo above are to lock the drawer in place so if Eenie, Meanie, Mynie, or Moe decide to jump on the drawer, it wont go flopneck and send chickens everywhere. These boards will be updated with larger boards that are cut with at least a 45 degree angle so the above mentioned violators don't try and roost on it. I'll also add some 2x4 guides on the left side so the drawer tracks evenly as we pull it out. Also lowered the roosting bar cause it looked too high and those birds don't even look at it.

Now, remove the locking boards (they're just a tight fit and and can be pulled out by hand), and slide the drawer toward the Coop door that Quig loves so much!!!!! Hey,,,who's wine glass is that??? No wonder the boards are twisted!!!!!

All that's left to do is fill that drawer with some Sweet PDZ,,,Mmmmmmmmmm!

And there ya have it. The Lotsa Poop drawer. Now we don't have to climb in the coop to clean a poop board. Bring the drawer to Papa and bye-bye poop!!!

Oh my gawd thats PERFECt.... No wheels to get clogged no tracks to line up.....
