MUSCOVY question

ok getting the ducklings tomorrow just a few things i was woundering...

 

1 ~ how do you sex these cute ducks 

2 ~ at what age can you sex them

3 ~ is there anything that there needs to be done for the fleshy part on their faces to keep it clean, ect

 

i want to make sure i have everything needed for these babies :D love my ducklings

I know some can vent sex but that is done at a day or so old.. plus if done wrong can hurt the bird otherwise.. you get to play guess the gender game like most of us lol

 

By about 3mths or so you can usually see the males overtaking the females in overall size and foot/leg dimensions. My first pair of hens actually began laying at 4mths old.

 

I'll find a pic of a pair of mine to show you the differences at a few months old...

I don't do anything for the fleshy parts BUT i did Vaseline a few come winter, I found they cracked a bit in our bitter cold/snow because they dunk their heads.
