Got my first ducklings today!!!!! Updated with pics! - Page 2

Yes they are doing great!! I have some current photos I will post as soon as I get them off the camera! 

For now, here's a few better ones from their arrival... 

Here they are on day 2 - - taking a warm water splash & already looking so much better! I think I worried for nothing but was glad to have a place to look for guidance. 

Day 3 - - it was in the 80's and so nice out so we took them outside. Now it's back to snow up here... crazy weather we are having!! It was nice for the 12 hours it lasted! 

By day 4 I couldn't believe how much they had grown already!! I put them in their original box to take a pic to try and show how big they had gotten...

It is crazy how fast they grow! I can't believe it... I have taken tons of pics and lots of video too..  I feel like I have babies all over again, every pic is a different facial expression so you just sit there taking pics for hours! lol 

Now here they are today, 12 days old... they are already lightening up and getting new feathers on their tails and wings... isn't it early for that??

I am really not sure. Mine seem to pick at the areas that are getting new feather growth, removing the fluff as new feathers come in. Their tails now have mostly all new feathers. I think they all do molt a bit at times. 

I have questions about the niacin. I was told it wasn't necessary at the feed store. I have been feeding them Dumor chick starter as well as veggies, but the chick starter does NOT say it has niacin at all on the bag. So now I'm worried that they won't have enough. Does anyone else use this feed? 

If I get extra niacin in capsules I can just put it in their water, right? What happens if they get too much? Is that a concern? 

I see that niacin is available in both capsules and tablets. The tablets are cheaper where I am so could I use those, or just the capsules bc they can be broken open and dispersed easier?
