BYC KNITTING CLUB - Page 3

oh my , All of my stuff is packed up because we are finishing the house and are at the painting stage. But I am running upstairs to rummage through boxes to find my yarn.

you have all motivated me , and believe me , that's not easy.

My favorite wooden circulars broke last time i had them out so I have to go buy new ones.
Oh no now I'm spending money , and not painting.

My MIL ( whom I just adore) taught me how to knit 27 years ago. She can knit anything.
I've been going to start a new fisherman's knit for dh,(he grew out of the last one)
Gained 10 lbs since joining the "hey grampa what's for supper thread).

On knitted slippers, I consider myself an expert. I wear slippers from the time I get up until the time I go to bed as soon as the weather gets cool. I have been felting slippers for the last several years and they wear pretty well. Although when I make my pair for this year, I am buying suede soles to sew to the bottom so I can get more than a year's wear out of them.

Ang, those are the ones with the pre-punched holes around the edge for sewing them on, right?  That sounds like a great idea.

Scootersmom, very pretty!

Ok so I dont want this thread to die, knitting is a great thing.
So here are some of my projects

the first pair of adult socks I ever made..For me:) this is a lion brand patter, my FAVORITE sock pattern

http://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/12488_p2190067.jpg

These I made out of mosaic twist yarn, used same basic lion brand pattern, just adjusted amount of rows and such and used bigger needles because the yarn was so bulky..these are WARM, and SOFT and work up QUICK..the only downfall is wool so hand wash only..

This is a 100% cotton can coozy i made using double strands of sugar and creme cotton on DPNs. I love it its beautiful...sadly i lost it tho so i have to make me another one. My mom just finished hers, is aqua and white. very nice

These are the first pair of sock I ever made..for my Baby boy. Out of 100% cotton sugar and cream.
