AKs are decent but they don't hold a candle to a FAL.

No more progress yet; I'm still trying to sell some stuff to raise funds for the rest of the build.

A few days ago I made a bit of progress. I traded off the forearm I had, because it's too long, and bought a stripped upper. (It has the sight, but no dust cover, FA or BCG). It also has one of those carry handle optic mounts, so if I use this gun for deer hunting I can put a red dot or something on it.

I found the BCG I want, but I'm still trying to sell a shotgun to get the money. Then I need the FA, dust cover, crush washer for the muzzle brake, the nut that holds the barrel on (Castle nut?), 3 inch free float forearm, low pro gas block and tube, and whatever else I don't know of yet. lau.gif

Progress is slow, but I'm getting there. thumbsup.gif

Free float hand guard arrived today. Still needs more parts, but it's looking almost finished and since the hand guard works as a barrel nut I can leave the barrel on it now.

Looking good!  Can't wait to see it finished - you know you're gonna have to post a video, now. wink.png Or, at least tell us how it shoots.

I plan to take video the first time I shoot it, and probably a few times after that. I want to get some in the dark, to see how much flame that short barrel shoots out. thumbsup.gif

The washer for the muzzle brake arrived yesterday, and the gas tube arrived today. wee.gif

Do you have to put CO2 in the gun for it to work? or green gas?
