Yep. I do totally understand now and I can appreciate that you all do the best for your animals and that things in the US aren't the same as the UK. Point proven. Brilliant. Great. Thanks. Now, How the hell do I delete this thread as people are driving me bonkers!!! th.gif

“Perhaps most persuasive [example of intelligence] is the chicken’s intriguing ability to understand that an object, when taken away and hidden, nevertheless continues to exist. This is beyond the capacity of small children.”

If I come across as sharp, I am not meaning to be sharp - just informative and to the point. I don't tolerate fools too gladly.

Ask the mods to shut it down.  Bonkers can be bad for you. roll.png

Why do you want the thread shut down. Is it because more of us don't agree with you. And most believe that it is livestock.

kellysmall87, sourland is correct, if you wish to have this thread closed down, just report it and ask that it be closed. As the originator that is your perogitive.

Before you get the idea that all americans treat pets as disposable, I want to assure you that is not the case. Many, many many BILLIONS of dollars are spent every year on pets and pet care here.

America is in a transition from the belief that animal welfare is of little consequence to a more enlightened belief that animals matter.

Lord people!  That is not what she is saying.  She simply did not understand the Canada and the US do not have the access that the UK does to vets!  That's it, That's all!  While yes, to some people chickens are livestock, this is BYC-hence small operations and many people on this forum have chickens as pets and she simply wondered why we don't take them to vets when there is an issue.  She understands now, she gets it!  Quit jumping on her!
