Hawk injury - Page 2

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan big_smile.png

AS long as she is eating and drinking, follow dawg's recommendations. Watch for any picking though, chickens can be deadly.

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,
one fat pony, and many (but not too many!) chickens

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?

Helen: Daria, do you have to look at everything in such a negative light?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?

Thank you all for the expert advise - it really made things a bit calmer around here.  I am amazed at how quickly chicks heal!  Yesterday, when I went to apply more antibiotic ointment, the wound was less inflamed, and it is starting to scab over at the edges - amazing!  No pecking, and she seems to be happy with her buddies.  Think I can finally stop worrying.  Thank you, thank you!  Guess I can't garden with the chicks anymore though....nasty hawks!
