Cochin Bantam breed help

I have several (13 to be exact) cochin bantams that my daughter and I are raising.  We picked them up at the hatchery, but didn't have a specific breed choice, so...

 

This little hen is a (here's where I need the help) Silver Penciled Cochin Bantam

Now, this little roo is a bit of a stumper for me.  I originally thought he was going to be a black cochin, but...

I'm beginning to think he may be a birchen instead, maybe? But, he was completely black as a chick...

 

Ugh. Help

Think they are both silver penciled. My avatar picture is of my birchen Cochin. He might get more white as he gets older... But usually a "collar" of white and black feathers leans towards silver penciling.

I did want to say that female birchens have the collar of silver, but I think rooster birches should have more white feathers down the saddle than the one you have pictured
