My chicken ate a small piece of plastic

I was watching my chickens yesterday and observed one of my larger hens scratch a small piece of plastic out of the ground and ate it. Will that hurt it or will she be able to pass it through?

I'm not sure but if you wanted to give her a laxative, you could try olive oil or lots of mealworms.

“Perhaps most persuasive [example of intelligence] is the chicken’s intriguing ability to understand that an object, when taken away and hidden, nevertheless continues to exist. This is beyond the capacity of small children.”

If I come across as sharp, I am not meaning to be sharp - just informative and to the point. I don't tolerate fools too gladly.

I have seen my hen eat a piece of silicone before and she was fine. As long as your hen isn't showing any symptoms that would indicate something being wrong, I think she should be fine.
