When do their voices start changing?

I have 4 Pekins and I am noticing one of them sounds distinctly different from the rest. More husky and low toned. They are a day or 2 shy of being 3 weeks old. TY!

That's about right. I have 3 indian runners, they're 4weeks old and their voices are starting to change drastically. Still some peeping now and then, but now more of a low quacking noise is starting to take its place.

Drakes will make a hissing noise as I found out... I believe i  have 2 girls and 1 drake!!!

My runners (all girls) started peep-honk! at about three weeks of age.  Their first full blown WAAKS were a week or two later.

 

Nine beautiful Runners, four beautiful Buffs, thousands of beautiful memories and counting.

 

Looking for ducks?  Please consider adopting rescued ducks.  There are many places and people who do rescues, but we are not allowed to post the links due to BYC regs.  So fire up your web browsers and find some sweet, grateful duckies.

It really did remind me of human kids' voices changing.  And they went through an awkward stage, that's for sure.

Mine all were somewhat noticeable around 3 weeks it was funny like they were trying to stop sounding different than the boys but just couldnt!

Married mom of 2 boys & 10 duckies! My husband thinks I am crazy with loving these ducks!

Lol it's so true! They try to hide it but it just comes out anyway!

It's the duck form of adolescence or puberty! I call it the "awkward stage" gig.gif
