Good Morning and Welcome !! You will Find that you always need to watch and worry a bit .. Sometimes it is Chicken against Chicken you worry about .. Sorry about the lost Chicks .. When I First started it was a Coon getting to mine : ( I Still give all my Chickens Food and Water 24 - 7 I Have a Large Hanging Feeder and several Waterers ( I Have quite a Few Chickens ) I Make sure the Waterers are Clean and Full Every Day .. And The only time They are out of Food Is if it runs out until I can get to it . (Or If the Goats I let run free go in the Hen house to Visit ..) I always Refill it as until some of the more aggressive Roosters and Hens Until they 
get a Belly Full they don't let the little ones have as much .. So I keep an all you can eat Buffet available of Laying Pellets.. Fresh Water 24-7 But Snacks I limit and mostly feed when I want to play and watch them come all around : ) I Hope you will enjoy this Site as Much as I do !.
