I saw some chickens in key west last spring and fell in love.  Sooo this year when I saw some for sale at the local pet store for easter I bought 2 of the smaller ones hoping for hens... I dont think they are though:(.    Trying oto figure what to from here... I live in the burbs of Houston, and while I don't think the neigbors would mind a few hens, rooster are a definate no go.  So now I'm weighing my options and trying to figure out how much time we have before the dreaded chopping block.  Thx for any use

full input!

I think the chickens are gonna be bigger than the dogs!

Good luck!! Do you know the breeds? There are some breeds that show (sexing) earlier. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

My husband finally talked me into getting chickens, now, I'm addicted!

Welcome from SE Ga. Give them a little time to grow and then post pics in the gender section of the forum and ask for the opinions of other members. We can generally get it right. Have fun and learn alot.

A very loving DW, 4 grown kids, 12 grandkids, 6 dogs, and chickens.
