Abdomen/ umbilical in baby chick after hatching is bloody

Hi, I noticed that in one of the chicks, the point where the umbilical attaches to the abdomen is bloody and leaving bloody prints on the bedding. Is this small blood loss going to prove too much for the tiny chick?

I would supplement with baby vitamins (poly vi sol without iron) and try to stop the bleeding if you can.

How is she doing now?

Thanks for the reply. She's doing very well now, no more bleeding and it's dried up. I know it doesn't take very much for them to bleed to death so I was worried. Thanks to your post I can now stock some of that product incase it happens again. :)
