temperature fluctuation/what kind of thermostat?

hi guys. made my first incubator. sorry it looks horrible :D
don't mind the digital thermometer, it reads later than the analog.
my thermostat starts the bulb (25 watts) to warm the incubator up to 99.5 F (37.5 C)
then wait for the temp to drop 94.1 F (34.5 C) before it lights again.



im really sorry. it's the best i can do. :) :) :)



now, how do i keep the temp stable at 99.5? or maybe 100.5 to 99.5?
the humidity reads 80 for now because of the rain and sudden sunshine.

AND BY THE WAY. what do you call this kind of thermostat so i can research about it more. it has a big switch connected to a small plastic box and has a foot-long probe.

Have you thought of placing the thermostat probe above the bulb, and/or trying a different wattage light. I use a 75 watt bulb for my cooler incubator. If placing the thermostat probe 2-3 inches above the bulb, and directly under the fan doesn't work, try using a different thermostat.
 
I found that there was less fluctuastion the closer the thermostat was to the light bulb ( it caused the light to cycle on/off more) . If It was futher away there was a larger temperature swing in my incubator. I noticed this every time i moved something. like bumping stuff when taking out racking during lock down
 
i bought it from an automatic shop. they say it's used for food warmers, incubators and water heaters. just a cheap one.
the temp range now fluctuates from 95.5 to 98.5 after i adjusted it a bit. it's getting close.

but if it will just stay there. i'll buy a better one. :)

Another thought--have you actually checked the temp and tracked the temp at the level the eggs are going?? That level may have less swing than the readouts you are currently seeing.

I like the idea of putting the probe close to the light bulb. Have you tested that theory?
